Respect if you work in the heat
Ten tips if you work in the heat
It looks like summer has really begun this week. With temperatures rising till 38 degrees, lots of vacationers will enjoy themselves at the beach, the pool or on a terrace. But undoubtedly there is also a group of people that has to work with these temperatures. We wish to show our respect to these people.
It might just be that some of your coworkers are gone and you have to fill in for them. These high temperatures don’t make it any easier. That’s why we want to give you some tips to make working in this heat more bearable.
Exhaust warm air by ventilating
Avoid or reduce heavy physical effort or postpone it
Implement a tropical hour schedule
Shorten the worktime
Introduce extra breaks
Wear airy and dry clothing, preferably cotton
Drink a lot (no alcohol)
Make sure your salt level is high enough
Check the sunpower and use enough sunblock
If you work outdoors it’s sensible to pay extra attention. For example, check the current sun power on the KNMI website. This way you can prevent damaging your skin and reduce the risk of skin cancer.
Of course we hope you’ll get through the heat safely and you can still enjoy the hot temperatures. Cool down at night and in the weekends, have a swim in the pool or the sea, drink an ice cold cocktail or have an extra ice cream. Before you know it, you’ll be able to enjoy your hard earned vacation. Just know…. We respect you!
